Joomla is simply has more functionality than any other CMS and has a smooth, integrated and complete template engine of it's own in its core. We can build almost any web site with Joomla and it allows our clients to be able to update, upgrade and edit their own web sites by themselves.

This is always problematic cause the new release of Smarty in most cases requires a complete over haul of the CMS to match it.

With a new and improved ACL (account control level) coming out in Joomla 1.6 (still in Beta) there will be even more endless possibilities to add even more functions to Joomla software extensions.
